Visit to the Wildwood Soup Kitchen Wednesday 1/9/26 by Allamanda & Sewing N More for our donation made!!!

Thank you to Lois Rose for setting up the donation to the Wildwood Soup Kitchen we received an invitation to tour the facility and have lunch if we wanted!!!!

Kris Richardson, Co President of Allamanda Quilters, Ellen Hein and Diane Placek, of the Sewing N More Club, were invited to tour the Wildwood Soup Kitchen, as a thank you for the group's joint donation!

They serve over 275 meals the days they are open for lunch.  They also deliver meals to shut in's and are open after school certain days for after school snacks...they also give children food to take home for the weekend so they get their protein so they do well in school.

If you want more information of all the good work they do (it's amazing) please go on line and look up the Wildwood Soup Kitchen.   They have a video you can watch and lots of information,

I am very glad I went to see the setup and am so impressed of all the good work they are doing.  To see the people happy and able to eat a meal and talk to there people was heart warming.  The volunteers truly care for the people!!!!

The room setup! On the left side is take out veggies!!! In the back you will see shelving covered in black that is all veggies!  They get donations from Sprouts, Publics, Walmart, Aldi's.

Diane Placek, Ellen Heine, Kris Richardson,  The manager of the kitchen

That day's menu!!!!

We saw lots of people taking out food.  Most had at least 3 meals worth or food.  Some decide to eat there they come and go from 11:00 am - I think 4:00 pm

That white container you see next to the garbage can is left over foods that is picked up by a farmer to feed his animals!!!  No food is wasted!!  Everyone that came in were so nice and happy it was truly nice to see how much they appreciate it.

They did buy a new building just down the street.  They will keep the kitchen open until the other building is ready for them to move in.  They feel February the new building will be ready.  I didn't take pictures of the people coming in didn't feel that was right.
